Scoil Íosa Ballyhaunis is a Co Educational mainstream primary school catering for children aged 4-13 yrs. It was formed from the amalgamation of St. Joseph’s Convent of Mercy Primary School and St. Mary’s Boys National School. The school operated on two sites until the opening of the renovated Abbeyquarter school on August 28th 2012. Current enrolment stands at 331 pupils. Scoil Íosa has twenty full time teaching staff and four special needs assistants. The school also has part time hours shared with Logboy NS. and with Carraig NS. At present there are children from over twenty nationalities attending the school.
